CO2 Reduction Effect of JPR Rental Pallet Service

Through shared use and collection, JPR's rental pallet service is highly effective in reducing the impact on the environment.

Approx. 76% reduction in CO2 using our Rental System

According to a study, using JPR rental pallets (both wood and plastic) for shared use and collection reduced CO2 emissions by about 430,000 tons per year compared to when each company used its own pallets. This is equivalent to the annual CO2 absorption of about about 30.79 million cedar trees.(It was assumed that 50 year-old cedar trees absorb about 14 kg of CO2 per year.)

  • The CO2 reductions are based on a joint study conducted between 2007 and 2008 with then Associate Professor Hisayuki Kurokawa (currently Professor Kurokawa) of the Department of Logistics and Information Engineering, Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology, using the latest performance figures for FY2016 for recalculations in conjunction with KANSO CO., LTD. and Professor Kurokawa.

Effective CO2 Reduction

1. Efficient truck operation is possible with the shared collection system
2.The service life of pallets can be prolonged by carrying out repairs and maintenance

JPR's pallet rental system (consistent palletization system), which encourages the long-term use of pallets and is operated efficiently, can be said to be an effective mechanism for reducing the impact on the environment.
